Remote Viewing: Martial Art for the Mind

On the November 30, 1995 episode of Nightline, broadcaster Ted Koppel revealed that for almost a quarter of a century during the Cold War the US government researched and used in intelligence collection a version of applied consciousness called remote viewing. You can think of remote viewing as a form of disciplined extrasensory perception (ESP). It allows a person using it—a “remote viewer”—to perceive and describe persons, places and/or events undetectable by the five physical senses because of distance or shielding—or being located in the past or future. All a remote viewer needs is to learn to use the hidden power of his or her own mind.

In the years since the military program was declassified, remote viewing has become widely known and practiced. It has also become the focus of speculation, conspiracy theories, and fantasies that serve to smother the scientific reality that originally grounded it. This workshop, by one of the leading remote viewing teachers in the world, former military remote viewer Major Paul H. Smith, PhD (US Army, ret.), gives a fascinating, no-nonsense, fact-based explanation of what remote viewing is and isn’t, where it came from, and how it is done. He reveals some of the impressive real-world results the military produced, and shows what ordinary people have accomplished after being taught how to do it. As the highlight of the event, Paul will guide attendees through their own simple remote viewing experience.

Introduction to Basic Dowsing

In the US military’s Star Gate psychic spying program, we often faced a problem, which was to locate something that was missing, including Western captives held hostage in the Middle East, Soviet weapons systems, illegal narcotics shipments or other high-value targets, such as terrorist leaders.

Unfortunately, our main tool, remote viewing, wasn’t always the best choice. RV is more of a descriptive process, whereas locating where something was required us to pinpoint the place where that thing might be found. We called this the “search problem.” Our solution was to go back to the ancient practice of dowsing. And dowsing could be used for other purposes, besides just solving the search problem. I mention some of these other uses below.

In this 2hr lecture & workshop, I teach you the basic concepts and theory of the dowsing process, and introduce you to basic techniques and simple procedures to use in solving dowsing tasks. I then guide you through various practical exercises, by which you can begin to develop your dowsing skills in a fun, yet challenging way.

We can’t possibly learn everything there is to know about dowsing in one short session. So I will concentrate on the use of the pendulum, which we in the military often used to supplement remote viewing for prediction, information collection, and decision-making (I will give you some examples of these during the introductory portion of my workshop).

All materials necessary will be provided, including simple pendulums. But if you have a favorite pendulum, feel free to bring it along.

Meditation Unlocked The Path to Unleashing the Vast Potentials of the Mind

Meditation is an ancient practice, found in all the worlds religious traditions, linking
the hearts and minds of practitioners to sources of guidance, inspiration and/or the
Divine. Dysfunctional patterns at the level of our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors
create identification, attachment, conflict, and distraction that are obstacles to finding
the peace of deep connection to the Divine.

The ancient yogi-s recognized that the root of these dysfunctional patterns is the
conditioned mind. They developed the science of meditation to understand,
transform and ultimately master the mind. Mastering the mind, according to the
Ancients, is the path to Self or God realization, fulfillment and ultimate liberation.
Modern scientific and medical research are demonstrating the incredible health
benefits of meditation for the brain and physiology. Beyond the physiological level,
through meditation we can deepen our self-understanding and gain mastery over our
minds. With that as a foundation, we can access the higher states of awareness that
lead to deep wisdom and compassion and enable us to tap into and actualize our

Patañjali, he great codifier of Yoga, presents what are arguably the first systematic
teachings about the art and science of meditation, including the obstacles to
attaining the meditative state, the steeps to take to overcome those obstacles, and
the vast, untapped potentials (siddhi-s) of the mind that can be achieved once the
practitioner gains mastery over their mind.

In this presentation, Gary will present teachings about meditation drawn from
Patañjali’s Yoga Sūtra, and lead a guided meditation through which the meaning of
those teachings can be assimilated, and the insights revealed catalyze a deep yet
practical understanding of the path to mastering the mind.

Beyond Stargate: The Intersection of Remote Viewing, Lucid Dreaming and Visionary Experiences

There is an expanding interest in non-ordinary perceptions in the awake state and the dream state. This presentation reviews a variety of experiences from research and spontaneous situations for insight into the creative processes that facilitate them. These include remote viewing and psi dream experiments between individuals separated by thousands of miles from the spatial target and from individuals who are observing the target. Some of these were double-blind with no target observer and for targets in the future that did not exist at the time of the remote viewing session or precognitive dream. Some of the psi dreams became lucid with symbolic and mythological motifs.

Visionary and some UFO/UAP experiences are considered from a psi and lucid dream perspective. One illustration is a precognitive lucid dream related to Ingo Swan’s conscious dreaming experiences. Also reviewed is the recent research grant for the International Remote Viewing Association’s Research Unit (IRU) that was awarded by the Portuguese-based BIAL Foundation. This project, Non-local Perception and AI, a Study on the Intersection of Technology and Consciousness, will add insight into the creative aspect of remote viewing and lucid dreaming. IRVA’s recent museum contacts with the National Cryptologic Museum (NCM) near Ft. Meade, Maryland, and the Cold War Museum (CWM) in Warrington, Virginia for displaying Stargate material is reviewed. The IRVA brochure, Stargate, The Best-Kept Secret of the Cold War, provided background for the museum directors.

Possible phenomenological concepts, the implications of psi developments and psi applications involving AI are considered. The presentation concludes with speculation on Stargate’s influence on human potential evolution for the next 30 to 60 years and considers the convergence of understanding for remote viewing, lucid dreaming, and some visionary and other extraordinary experiences.

The Soul Behind the Simulation

Suzanne Ross explores the spiritual concept that while we as avatars may be in a computer simulation, the One Infinite Creator of the Space-time game is divine and the “Souls behind the Simulation” are creations of this Divine Source. She proposes that there is a “Source-Universe” at the core of creation from which Space-Time is projected. Here, our eternal “Source-selves”, and all created things and beings, are existing in a state of divine perfection. Replicating the Creator’s emanation of Thy Self as the Divine Trinity (3) expressing in all (4) directions as (12) personalities, our Source-selves mentally project 12 holographic fractals of themselves into 12 dimensions of Space-Time for 144 avatars.

The Space-Time game is a mental construct made up of consensus realities contained within multiple matrices. Glitches in the Matrix: Unexplained Phenomena and the Simulation Hypothesis

Simulation Theory provides an alternative framework and a model to understand many anomalous phenomena which are not explained well by the existing dominant materialist paradigms. Inner Wisdom: Remote Viewing in the Mirror of the Soul

In this workshop, Dr. Mossbridge speaks briefly about how Remote Viewing can be considered a form of Inner Wisdom, the pan-generational, pan-cultural, pan-everything recognition of the ripples the universe makes on our souls. Reality Denied: Firsthand Experiences with Things that Can’t Happen – But Did

This unique and thought-provoking presentation is based on a book of the same title and many decades of personal experiences with anomalous events. What will be covered is my experiences. As a senior U.S. Army officer, I engaged in several unique programs that dealt with psychic phenomena. While the Star Gate Program is generally known, we also explored many other topics such as psychokinesis – metal bending, the Hutchinson Effect, Cleve Backster’s Primary Perception and conducted NeuroLinguistic Programming (NLP) studies with the founders, Richard Bandler, John Grinder and John’s colleague, Tony Robbins. Also covered will be the Advanced Theoretical Physics (ATP) UFO study that I organized and ran. In the civilian sector I was a president of the International Association for Near-Death Studies (IANDs) and have traveled extensively seeing shamans all over the world from Mongolia and the Amazon to the Himalayas, worked interspecies communication with dolphins in open ocean while also diving with whales and great white sharks. All questions/topics are fair game.

The Phusikoi Project

Throughout history to the present day, reports exist of individuals with intuitive capabilities, interesting abilities, and inner experiences whose abilities and experiences do not have a rational explanation within today’s mainstream scientific perspective. There exists a spectrum of abilities and knowledge that spans the broadly accepted to the unbelieved. For example, creatives such as freestyle rappers and jazz musicians seem to tap into a different form of knowledge that is inaccessible to the layperson. “One-off'” individuals who have developed unique skills based upon atypical brain-wiring such-as Stephen Wiltshire’s1 visual memory, Daniel Tammet’s2 skills with numbers, and Marilu Henner’s3 autobiographic-memory are accepted by science. However, how their unique brains enable their abilities is not understood. Finally, some individuals were either born with or have developed unique abilities through some form of practice such as meditation or kundalini yoga that includes different forms of knowing (e.g., seer, empath, medical intuitive, remote viewing, mediumship), the ability to manipulate one’s own or someone else’s phenomenological experience such as pain management and the transmission of energy (e.g., qi) or light, and the ability to affect the material world with their mind (e.g., psychokinesis). The abilities in this final category are generally not recognized by science and are often regarded as pseudoscience.

The Western perspective, from which modern science and philosophy arose, views the objective reality (material world) as the primary from which consciousness and subjectivity emerge. However, there are Eastern perspectives that view consciousness as a primary fact underlying experiential, and that consciousness within an individual can be cultivated and developed.

The East has a long tradition of practices such as meditation, yoga, qi gong, and neidan that reportedly lead to the development of “realized” abilities (e.g., siddhis) and extend “human potential” or what the capabilities of the human mind and body are. The whole domain of acupuncture in Traditional Chinese Medicine is based upon the flow of qi along meridians throughout the body. Western science has found no evidence that supports the existence of meridians or qi, yet its practice continues to provide health benefits, especially chronic pain relief, to people around the World. With the rise in popularity of Eastern approaches in the West, the studies of clinical near-death experiences and spiritual emergence/emergencies, dream studies including lucid dreaming, and the rise of psychedelics all over the past sixty years, there is a growing acceptance and interest in non-ordinary states of consciousness. Furthermore, the real-time capture of biometric data including brain activity makes it possible to develop quantifiable measures for these states. This opens the door toward acknowledging the possibility that people with unique abilities exist and the development of research methodology to study them.

To catalyze research into the potential of the human mind, we are developing a database of people with unique abilities that modern science does not yet have explanations for, and a global network of academics and independent researchers that investigate such phenomena. Our objective is to foster greater collaborations and develop new research methodologies that will lead to new understandings of the mind-body relationship, advancing knowledge in this area.

Personal Development, Mental Health, and Human Potential

In the development of one’s conditioned world view or belief system, the first years of our lives our conceptual framework of reality is largely determined by our parents and society. As we hit puberty, we develop an individuated self that is independent of our parents, but still shaped within the confines of consensus reality. While most people are content within consensus reality, some individuals “pop” out of these beliefs that they have been conditioned to live by either through a near death experience, a deep spiritual practice, an existential crisis, or the use of psychedelics. In the modern world, such experiences are interpreted as a form of psychosis and can lead to bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. They are treated with pharmaceuticals to rebalance brain chemistry.

In the developing world, such conditions are treated differently, and many of the people who undergo and integrate such experiences are revered by their community to serve as a healer or a shaman. There is a growing community that are reexamining how mental illness is looked at in the modern world. Organizations such as The Emergent Phenomenology Research Consortium, the new Center for Spirituality and Mental Health, the Spiritual Emergence Network, and the American Center for the Integration of Spiritually Transformative Experiences are just some of the groups involved in this reexamination. This talk will outline a framework for personal development that is consistent with western science, the theistic traditions, and eastern philosophy.
